Summary:

This book is about a teddy bear named Corduroy, who happens to be inside a toy store department and the teddy bear is on a shelf shown as a display. One day, a girl named Lisa came inside the store and wanted to buy Corduroy, but her mother refused to buy Corduroy because she saw that the teddy bear had a missing button. During the night, when no one was at the toy store anymore, Corduroy decided to look for the missing button himself. Corduroy never found a button for himself because the store security guard found him, and put Corduroy back into the toy store department. The next day, Lisa came back to the store and she bought Corduroy. At home, Lisa sowed Corduroy's missing button, and they both found a friend in each other.

Book Evaluation:

1) I would recommend this book to my class because it talks about good values: such as friendship, determination, and loyalty. I also, believe that kids love to play with toys, and some of them would be able to relate to the girl in the book.

2) I would recommend this book to the Pre-Kinder students all the way to the First grade level.

3) I would use this book for the Math unit. I would create a fun activity for them, where they can use buttons, or fake money, so they can learn how to count.
