Summary:

This story is about a zombie named Mortimer, who did not have a sweetheart to go to a cupid ball with. Mortimer tried to find a date, but none of the ladies would appreciate him. Mortimer tried to impress the lady from the bus stop, the lady from the mail carrier and even the lady waitress, but none of them wanted to be his date. So, Mortimer read books, and followed all of the advice. He went to the gym, took the dog to the park and even took dancing lessons. Still, none of the ladies seemed be impressed by Mortimer. Then, Mortimer got an idea, and he made a newspaper in which he spoke about himself and how he was looking for a date for the cupid ball to go with. On Saturday, Mortimer shopped for a new suit and he went to the cupid ball. Mortimer went to the cupid ball alone, but he waited for a girl to show up. Many of the girls that showed up to Mortimer ran away from him because they were afraid of his crooked smile. Until another girl who had the same crooked smile as him showed up, they both danced the night away and they both fell in love.

Book Evaluation:

1) I would recommend this book to my class because I figure some students would have preferences in reading stories about zombies, romance or comedy books. It was my first time reading this story, and I loved it because I thought this story was cute and funny.

2) I would recommend this book for the grade level of Pre-Kinder to Third grade level.

3) I would use this book in the unit of Art. I would have them decorate a card and give it to a love one. This would be a perfect read out loud for Valentine's day.
